A History of Steel - Over Dinner

Michael Dearing

Where did steel come from? How do you make it? Why does it matter? In partnership with Roots of Progress, we're pleased to offer a fun look at the history of steel in Britain and America. Our tour guide will be the one-and-only Jason Crawford, author of the Roots of Progress blog and founder of Fieldbook (acquired by Flexport). Jason will take us way back to the beginning of when humans decided metal was helpful and began making things with it. From there, he'll march us straight up to the modern methods of making steel. His illustrated history is clear, fun, and engaging story of how atomic number 26 (Fe - Iron) became woven into every aspect of human life via the magic of steel-making. This class is open to alums of General Management.

Dinner will be served. Come join!
