Order from Chaos: Managing Cross-Functional Teams

Managing people who directly report to you is hard. Managing people who don't report to you is even harder. However, in many Silicon Valley companies collaborative, multi-departmental teams are the norm. Engineers, designers, and product managers work together on projects while reporting to their own departmental managers. How do you support that team and improve outputs?

In this class we'll use research from the late psychologist and team expert, J. Richard Hackman, to figure out what makes high-functioning teams tick. Then, we’ll combine those lessons with the experience and expertise of Scott Woody, an incredibly talented veteran manager. You’ll leave with tools to use as you build fast-moving, cross-functional teams.
